The Zoon'Aran

Official first contact between the Zoon'Aran and the United Federation of Planets took place on the 22nd June, 2410 when the USS Prospero, under Captain Janeen Jaxom, came across a squadron of three Zoon'Aran destroyers attempting to take off with the abandoned USS Kurita. The Prospero was invited back to the Zoon'Aran homeworld under extremely heavy escort where the crew was given shore leave. Captain Jaxom Janeen eventually managed to open relations with the Zoon'Aran and left the homeworld with the Kurita in tow. The Prospero and Kurita were later attacked by Zoon'Aran pirate vessels from the Void Clan but after some negotiating they soon left the Starfleet starships on their way. By 2411 the Zoon'Aran were extending their trade routes into Federation space and beyond establishing links with various criminal elements within the Federation and with the Orion Syndicate. The Zoon'Aran also staged a show trail against a Starfleet officer, Lieutenant Marie de la Vega. In 2412 after several months of agitation by Zoon'Aran pirates, the Stagnorians launched a large scale punitive expedition against a Zoon'Aran raiding base. The Klingons, in 2413, not to be outdone, conquered the Zoon'Aran colony of Kdet. As of 2414 the Zoon'Aran are extremely wary of making further contact with Alpha and Beta quadrant races away from the Galactic core region as they all appeared to be outwardly hostile to the Zoon'Aran way of trading and piracy. They are covered with fur, have sharp teeth, and claws at the ends of each of their fingers. Their society is much like the Ferengi without the restrictions placed on women and without any type of ethics.
