Seven joined Starfleet, for the most part, because both his parents had been in Starfleet for many years. He always loved to fly, and so it was a natural choice for him to become a FCO. At the age of 5 he piloted his first shuttle around the USS Avatar. As he grew older he was able to fly shuttles more often and the Captain let him fly the ship, till they came across a Romulan Warbird and he had to leave the bridge.

He entered the Academy with his twin sister, Ashley, in 2361. They both took flight training, while she took extra medical and science, Sven stayed more to the technical side of things, taking engineering/operations and command. In the second year Ashley continued on with her classes, while Sven took a two day cruise as assistant FCO and went on with his other classes. He did get receive a reprimand because he got in a fight with a senior, who later got kicked out for low grades. Junior year went on a one week cruise as the FCO. He also started with advanced maneuvers, with his sister, for shuttles and starships. He also started a two year course in intelligence and started training to command small ships. Their Senior year was about the same, with them both passing the Level 5 piloting test. Sven finished up all advanced training and was given permission to command small frigates or starships. Ashley took a post as a shuttle pilot on the USS Acropolis (Cheyenne-Class), while Sven took a position as shuttle pilot and relieve FCO for the night shift on the USS Washington.

Nothing really happened while on the Washington. Sven mostly piloted the shuttles that took away teams to and from away missions. He also was relive FCO during the night shift the last two years on the Washington.

At the end of 2370 till the start of 2372 Sven took more flight training at Starfleet Academy and passed his Level 8 piloting test. He also took more command classes as well as updated engineering and operation classes.

The most fast passed part of his carrier happened while on the USS Andromeda. He was the FCO for night shift until he got promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade. and the FCO for alpha shift. While there he piloted the Andromeda through a Dominion battle line, and even took on the Borg. His skills were tested the most during the battle to retake DS9. He piloted the ship through enemy lines, and was the second ship that was able to break through, right after the Defiant. After the battle the ship returned to Starbase 32 for repairs and crew exchanges.

Seven stayed with the Andromeda until the end of the war, where the ship was destroyed in retaking Cardassia Prime. He was able to get to a fighter and give some cover fire to the running escape pods. He was given a Combat Merit and Bravery Commendation for it.

After the signing of the peace treaty Sven joined the crew of the USS Arizona as FCO for alpha shift and as a shuttle tech for gamma shift. Here he was promoted to full Lieutenant and awarded the Act of Distinction award for saving a fellow office's life after they got ambushed on a planet that the Jem'Hadar still had control of in 2376.

After three years there he put in for a transfer and was transferred to the USS Miranda-B.

Even though he is half Human and half Betazoid, he (and Ashley) have the full Betazoid telepathic power. In other words, they can read thoughts and not just emotions. The reason for this is that they received a rare gene that has heightened there powers. If they had been full Betazoids they could read a mind from a longer distance, and be able to go in deeper without causing any harm to the person they were scanning.

Lieutenant Taylor accepted a Chief Flight Controller position aboard the Starship Wellington in 2378.

In 2379 the Wellington disappeared. The ship actually became stuck in the event horizon of a nascent black hole. There it stayed until 2411 when the black hole's gravimetric strength started to fluctuate wildly. It spat the Wellington out while causing a great deal of damage. A distress call was managed to get transmitted and the Prospero rescued the remainder of the Wellington's crew.

In 2411 Seven joined the crew of the USS Prospero as a Flight Control Officer before being quickly promoted to Chief. That same year he started dating Captain Janeen Jaxom. They started things slow before making their relationship public. Things went well for them till the ship was taken over by a terrorist group calling themselves the People's Liberation Army. Like many of the senior officers he was interrogated for information about Starfleet operations and facilities. He never cracked and Seven was able to escape with a number of other crewmembers, including then Ensign Emily Hurst.

After returning to Federation space Seven made his way back to Earth to return to the Academy to get his much needed Starfleet refresher course, designed for those that had traveled forward in time. After the few month course Seven decided to take a command track program and returned again to the Academy to take classes for an Operations position.

In 2413 Seven was assigned to the USS Veracruz as Operations Manager.

Since Seven's capture in late 2411 he had not heard a thing about or from Janeen. All he got from Starfleet Command was that she was listed as MIA and was assumed to be a POW. Though Seven used to have connections within Starfleet Intelligence his connections had dried up when he was frozen in time for all those years. It wouldn't be till 2414 that he would find out anything from her.

The Veracruz was a dull assignment as it operated out of Starbase 23, a Starbase in the middle of Federation space that saw little action.

Next, Seven attended Starfleet's Command school.

In 2414 after the Prospero was found, refitted, Seven was asked to return, but this time as Executive Officer. Seven quickly accepted not knowing that Janeen Jaxom has been rescued and asked to serve as the Strategic Operations Officer to help the Prospero's AI recover from its shock.

Seven now not only faces the new pressures of running a completely different type of department but seeing his old girlfriend and trying to figure out what happened between them and why she never contacted him after she returned to Trill.
